Brigitte Sallee graduated cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma honors college with a B.S. in Zoology, a minor in chemistry, as well as a B.A. in classics and humane letters. During this time, she studied at Oxford University, Brasenose college and went to publish peer reviewed articles in the study of lipids and genetics and help an internship at the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST).

She then went on to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. During her fourth year of medical school, she studied abroad at University Clermont Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand France. She also published in cardiology, biotech and dermatology. She completed her first year of residency in Chicago, Illinois, co-sponsored by University of Illinois at Chicago department of orthopedic surgery.

She then spent two years in the Columbia University department of dermatology as a post-doc translational research fellow studying genetics, small molecule inhibitors, neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases. She has now returned home to complete her dermatology residency and is a currently chief resident at the University of Oklahoma department of dermatology. She has research interests in skin of color, genetics of dermatologic diseases, scarring and non-scarring alopecia, and translational dermatology.
