Mary Beth Humphrey, MD, PhD

Dr. Humphrey grew up in Dallas, TX and completed her B.A. in Biology, magnum cum laude, at Austin College.  She completed her MD, PhD in the Medical Science Training Program (MSTP) at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Humphrey subsequently completed Internal Medicine internship, residency, and Chief residency as well as Rheumatology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. In 2007, she was recruited to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology and Autoimmune Center of Excellence. She was promoted to Associate professor with Tenure in 2012 and Professor in 2015. She serves as the Division Chief of Rheumatology, Immunology, and Allergy at OUHSC and in 2019, became the Associate Dean for Research for the College of Medicine.  She has maintained research funding on osteoimmunology focusing on the interactions of the bone microenvironment on the immune system since 2003. As a clinician, she proudly serves at the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and at the OU Medical Center.
