Phebe M. Tucker, MD

Phebe Tucker, M.D. is Vice Chair of Education, Arnold, Bess Ungerman Endowed Chair in Psychiatry and Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation Presidential Professor at University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Tucker has taught medical students and residents extensively since joining the faculty in 1989, helping them create and publish manuscripts and humanistic articles. Community service includes serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, Director of the Oklahoma County Physicians Wellness Program and Chairman of the Continuing Medical Education Committee for the American College of Psychiatrists. She previously served a 3-year stint as Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the OU College of Medicine. She has conducted published research on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, trauma, anxiety disorders and education, and has an active clinical practice. Prior to medical school she received a B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, served in the Peace Corps in Cote d’Ivoire, and taught in California and Australia.  She and her husband have 2 grown offspring and love to travel to distant places.
