Dr. Pamela Roberts grew up in south Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in biochemistry before attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC and then a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She served on the faculty of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine for 13 years before joining the Dept. of Anesthesiology of the OU College of Medicine faculty in 2006. She serves as Vice Chair for Administration and Research and Section Head of Critical Care for the Department. She serves as Associate Chief of Staff of the OU Medical Center and Chairs several hospital committees. Her research has included animal studies of critical care models mostly related to nutritional interventions as well as numerous clinical studies in the critically ill population. She is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine serving in numerous roles. She continues to embrace and lead implementation of patient care changes that can improve outcomes.
