Marianne Dunlap, MD

Dr. Dunlap is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She serves as the medical director for the OU Latino Clinic which is a community clinic that serves a predominantly Hispanic population. She is the Pediatric Advocacy Program Director and oversees the advocacy curriculum in our department and recently served as a co-chair for the Advocacy Training Special Interest Group for the Academic Pediatric Association (APA). After bringing Reach Out and Read to the OU Health Sciences Center in 2001, she has served as the medical director of three clinical sites for the last fourteen years.  She also initiated the state coalition of Reach Out and Read Oklahoma, and serves as the medical director of the coalition. She served as co-chair for Region 7 of the APA in 2009 to 2011. From 2009-2013, she served as the Chair for the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness and the Oklahoma State Early Childhood Advisory Council. She currently sits on the board as a governor appointee. Dr. Dr. Dunlap served as co-chair for the Oklahoma Health Improvement Plan (OHIP) Children’s Health Plan which developed the first comprehensive child health plan for the State of Oklahoma and continues to be a co-chair for the Children’s Health Group. Dr. Dunlap currently serves on the Oklahoma Child Care Resource and Referral State Board and is the chair of the finance committee. She is a strong advocate for early childhood and an OK CEO (Oklahoma Champion for Early Opportunities).
