Hussein Bitar, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Bitar graduated from the Lebanese University-Faculty of Sciences and received his medical degree from the Lebanese University-Faculty of Medical Sciences in 2011.  He subsequently completed a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma.  During part of his fellowship, he completed an away rotation in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at Northwestern University in Chicago.  He is currently an Assistant Professor of medicine at the University of Oklahoma.  Dr. Bitar is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  He has received the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine Gold Humanism Award in Medicine in 2017.  He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
