Rishi Thakral, MD, is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement.  Dr. Thakral specializes in total joint replacement (hip and knee), revision total joint surgery, and hip preservation surgery.  He also has special interest in lower extremity deformity correction and limb lengthening.

Dr. Thakral earned his medical degree from MR Medical College Gulbarga, India in 1998.  He completed both a Surgery Residency and an Orthopedic Surgery Residency in Ireland.  He continued his specialized education, receiving Fellowship training in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Chicago and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.  He also completed a Fellowship in Limb Reconstruction and Lengthening at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Thakral has several mission trips and volunteer work to his credit, one being part of a team to assist victims of an earthquake in Haiti.  He is the author of several orthopedic manuscripts and abstracts.  He is actively involved in research and has presented his research extensively in various national and international meetings.

Dr. Thakral has a strong commitment to patient care and education.  He believes in educating his patient about their condition and assists them in making decisions for their care.
