Dr. Christopher Harris is a third-year family medicine resident physician at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He is originally from Tulsa, OK, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Jackson State University. He then returned to Oklahoma and earned a Master of Public Health degree in Health Administration and Policy, and a Doctor of Medicine degree, both from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Harris is one of the Chief Residents for the 2020 – 2021 academic year. His interests include African American health, maternal-child health, healthcare quality improvement, and improving diversity in the healthcare student population and workforce.  Upon completion of residency, he will be completing a Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship at the University of Illinois – Peoria, after which he plans to return as faculty to the University of Oklahoma. When he’s not taking care of patients, Chris enjoys spending time with his son, Carter, and three dogs. He also enjoys golf, fishing, cooking, and playing bass guitar.
