In this regularly scheduled series, four quarterly meetings with 2 hours of CME each will integrate course content to increase physicians' awareness of the broad cultural context of their patients. The presentations will enhance physicians' incorporation of this knowledge into an effective treatment plan that includes up-to-date evidence-based biological and psychotherapeutic treatments in culturally sensitive patient care. Methods and content include patient case studies, sessions focused on the interface of medical condistions (such as cancer) with psychiatric problems, presentations focusing on evidence-based treatments, and panels to increase physician leadership and address needs of the mentally ill in Oklahoma. A special focus on the opioid epidemic will assist psychiatrists in addressing these common problems in their patients.

The hematology oncology field is very diverse which includes all aspects of management of blood disorders and cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Grand rounds is a weekly one hour presentation incorporating interactive learning environment. Usually the presenter is an external speaker visiting from another institution or another department. The focus of the grands rounds is to update the audience about the advances in the field and discuss topics relevant to hematology/oncology which can serve as a platform to enhance knowledge and better patient care in addition trigger ideas for research. Sessions are usually followed by discussion toward the end with time for questions.

Congenital heart disease frequently encompasses derangements of all bodily systems. For this reason a wide variety of specialty areas are required in order to care for these complex patients. Each week we hold a multidisciplinary conference where the management of these patients is discussed. The duration of the conference is generally 1.5 - 2 hours, and active participation by all attendees is encouraged via case studies, the audience responding to questions, small group discussion, and question and answer opportunities. The ultimate goals of the conference are:
1) to assure that the needs of the patient are understood.
2) The needs of the the patient are being met
3) A long-term care plan is developed, and 
4) Adequate communication with the patient or their care-provider is being performed.

Grand Rounds consists of 2 case presentations from the diversity of pathology seen at the Eye Institute. Each is presented chronologically from presenting symptoms, history of present illness, past medical and ocular history, with photos of clinical findings and diagnostic imaging.Using the Socratic model of teaching, questions are raised throughout the process culminating in the formulation of a differential diagnosis. Further diagnostic testing is recommended and a therapeutic plan proposed. Often presented are diagnostic and therapeutic dilemmas for which additional expertise is requested.
