General surgery morbidity and mortality conference will allow for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty to gain updated knowledge and fill knowledge gaps regarding our specialty. There are a variety of sub-specialties within general surgery that are constantly evolving in their standards of practice. These continuing education conferences will allow for experts in each sub-specialty to discuss up-to-date practices and encourage questions and discussion from participants to close knowledge, competence, and performance gaps in areas that they are less familiar.

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
