Hem/Onc is a diverse specialty area encompassing all the systems of the body and includes generalists and sub-specialists. Grand rounds are a weekly one-hour presentation incorporating active learning techniques including: case studies, small group discussions, panel discussions, and question and answer opportunities.  Due to the varying complexity and the wide range of clinical cases seen, a myriad of topics are presented which are relevant to both Hematologist/Oncologists and internists. 

Overall Professional Practice Gap: 
Hematologist/Oncologists may have difficulties managing some types of cancer cases. Practitioners may have difficulties relating to diagnosis or management. In addition, guideline and management recommendations for cancer-related conditions change frequently. Cases will be presented to improve evaluation, diagnosis, and management. Topics and cases will provide opportunity to enrich knowledge and explore most recent advances in treatment. 

1. Apply the most current evidence-based medicine and literature to their practice
2. Apply specific use of diagnostic procedures and medications
