Overview

The audience of this activity consists of Orthopedic Surgeons in Oklahoma who are fellowship-trained in foot and ankle surgery, accompanied by orthopedic surgery residents at OU performing their PGY-2 and PGY-4 foot and ankle rotations. Participants meet every month to review, discuss that same month's edition of Foot and Ankle International Journal. The aim is to expand medical knowledge in the field of foot and ankle surgery, maintain competence and up-to-date implication of evidence-based practice in foot and ankle surgery.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:

  1. Identify and address gaps in quality of clinical service provided in foot and ankle surgery
  2. Disseminate evidence based knowledge and skills in foot and ankle surgery
  3. Develop team work and research among the foot and ankle community in Oklahoma by including an inter-professional audience
  4. Apply lifelong learning in foot and ankle surgery to assist foot and ankle surgeons in providing high quality care to patients
  5. Discuss competence in one or more of the six core competency areas
  6. Apply patient-centered care through inter-professional education
  7. Demonstrate the practice of evidence-based medicine in foot and ankle surgery
