Child and adolescent psychiatry is a sub-specialty with focus on development and mental health of young people. As specialists in this field we encounter a wide variety of needs. Professional Rounds is intended to build and widen the base of exposure to important topics within the field for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty. Presentations include specialist presentations, journal article discussions, and question and answer opportunities.

Overall Professional Practice Gap:
The overarching goal of our bi-weekly Child Professorial Rounds is to bridge the gap between basic classroom instruction and the clinical practice of efficacious psycho-therapeutic treatments of mental disorders among children, adolescents, and families.

1. Identify issues in medicine as it relates to child psychiatry.
2. Use best practice treatments in therapeutic approaches along with pharmacological management of patients.
3. Use information from other disciplines and agencies, both within OUHSC and the community, for better understanding of patient care.
