Neurosurgery deals with diseases of the nervous system that are amenable to surgical intervention, as well, traumatic and congenital neurologic abnormalities. Grand Rounds is a twice-monthly one-hour presentation. These are generally a traditional lecture/Q&A format learning with what is currently used versus what is ideal.

1. Analyze current evidence and emerging technologies in neurosurgery and integrate them into clinical decision-making.
2. Apply best practices in perioperative and postoperative management to improve patient safety and surgical outcomes.
3. Compare the local and regional neurotrauma environment and apply insights to strengthen neurotrauma service offerings
4. Provide a forum for feedback and peer review of department faculty research and clinical care
5. Discuss Departmental metrics and means to expand and improve the neurosurgical care we can provide to Oklahomans.
6. Evaluate complex neurosurgical cases and formulate management strategies that reflect evidence-based guidelines and multidisciplinary input.
7. Incorporate advances in surgical techniques, imaging, and adjunctive therapies into daily practice to enhance performance.
