27015: Updates in Neurology Symposium 2026 (September 26, 2026)

Updates in Neurology Symposium 2026 is a multidisciplinary continuing medical education (CME) activity designed to provide evidence-based updates in the diagnosis and management of common and complex neurological disorders. The symposium will feature expert faculty presenting current advances across multiple neurology subspecialties, including multiple sclerosis/neuroimmunology, headache and migraine, stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, dementia, neurocritical care, and peripheral neuropathies. The target audience includes neurologists, primary care physicians, physician associates, advanced practice providers, nurses, residents, fellows, emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with neurological diseases throughout Oklahoma. The program is designed to support healthcare professionals practicing in both academic and community settings, including rural and underserved areas where access to subspecialty neurological expertise may be limited. The symposium will combine didactic lectures with panel discussions to provide current evidence-based updates, encourage interdisciplinary learning, and promote collaboration among healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with neurological disorders. Through engagement with expert faculty and discussion of evolving diagnostic approaches, treatment strategies, clinical guidelines, and care coordination strategies, participants will gain practical knowledge and skills to support clinical decision-making, patient management, and delivery of high-quality neurological care.

1. Review current evidence-based guidelines and advances in the diagnosis and management of major neurological disorders, including migraine, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, dementia, and peripheral neuropathies.
2. Employ current therapeutic approaches and emerging treatment strategies in the management of patients with neurological disorders.
3. Differentiate clinical presentations that require urgent intervention, additional diagnostic evaluation, or referral to appropriate neurological subspecialists.
4. Incorporate updated neurological knowledge and interdisciplinary approaches into clinical decision-making to improve the quality and effectiveness of patient care.
5. Demonstrate clinical decision-making informed by updated neurological knowledge, evidence-based recommendations, and interdisciplinary approaches to patient care.
6. Coordinate interdisciplinary approaches to neurological care among physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient management.

1. Summarize current advances in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders, including migraine, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, dementia, and peripheral neuropathies.
2. Assess patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions using current nursing approaches for monitoring, care coordination, and clinical management.
3. Detect clinical findings and neurological warning signs that require timely escalation, urgent evaluation, or referral for additional care.
4. Evaluate nursing considerations related to emerging neurological therapies, including medication monitoring, adverse effects, infusion therapies, and patient safety considerations.
5. Educate patients and caregivers regarding medication management, symptom monitoring, lifestyle modifications, and safety strategies related to neurological disorders.
6. Facilitate interdisciplinary care coordination to support continuity of care for patients with neurological conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
