Overview
An annual scientific meeting updating Oklahoma Society of Oklahoma members and orthopedic allied health professionals on all aspects of orthopedic practice. 

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:


  1. Identify the mission of OREF in promoting excellence in orthopedic research.
  2. Recognize the different grant options offered by OREF in supporting orthopedic research.
  3. Identify requirements of application to OREF grants.
  4. Describe the application process for OREF grants.
  5. Develop required skills to address and test a specific hypothesis, define specific aims on an OREF grant application.
  6. Interpret reviewers’ appraisal and critique of an OREF application.
  7. Identify latest updates on AAOS opioid prescribing guidelines.
  8. Discuss the scope of the different AAOS initiatives and how to apply.
  9. Recognize most recent AAOS orthopedic practice guidelines.
  10. Develop comprehension of various roles of AAOS committees and state society level of involvement.
  11. Identify the role of the AAOS Board of Councilors.
  12. Recognize different prior initiatives of AAOS Board of Councilors.
  13. Establish means of reach out to regional and state AAOS Board of Councilors to relay concerns to AAOS Board of Directors
  14. Apply plans to enhance future engagement of OSOK members to interact and apply with AAOS Board of Councilors.
  15. Identify evidence based preclinical orthopedic studies of stem cells use.
  16. Describe up-to-date clinical trends on the use of stem cells in clinical orthopedic trials (an evidence-based approach).
  17. Identify FDA approved applications of stem cells in orthopedic surgery.
