American College of Cardiology Oklahoma Chapter 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting-April

This annual one-day meeting is an exciting program that will highlight world-class faculty discussing up-to-date information about drugs and technologies that are indicated in a variety of common cardiovascular diseases. The content will be generally oriented towards improving skills of many members of cardiac care team. The educational objectives of the session will address the skills required of cardiovascular professionals for providing evidence based care to patients with cardiovascular disease. The intimate format of this meeting will allow the audience to interact with invited speakers, network with colleagues from across the state and meet the cardiology fellows-in-training within the state. We will be providing CME credits.

1. Identify how differences in the enrolled populations may explain the discrepant results in COAPT and MITRA FR trials.
2. Describe the best practices to identify good and poor candidates for the edge to edge mitral valve repair in functional MR
3. Explain how to assess cardiac deformation with echo as a measure to be used beyond the global LVEF
4. Apply Global Longitudinal Strain findings in a clinically meaningful manner in patients with AS and MR
5. Discuss contemporary understanding of difficult clinical scenarios such as low flow low gradient or asymptomatic severe AS
6. Review evidence base supporting current recommendations for DAPT after PCI
7. Define the high bleeding risk phenotype and clinical trials examining short durations of DAPT in these patients
8. Summarize key trials examining Aspirin withdrawal after PCI
9. Examine existing approaches for use of triple therapy after PCI
10. Identify the most recent recommendations from evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of venous thromboembolism.
11. Select the appropriate therapy for a patient with VTE
12. Apply the recent evidence for the prevention of VTE in hospitalized medical patients at risk for VTE.
13. Evaluate the evolving perspectives within cardiology community and leadership on MOC through CME and longitudinal assessment.
14. Assimilate practical tips for the management of complex cardiac patients with problems likely to be encountered in cardiology practice.
