Overview
The purpose & overall goal of this activity is to improve the care of pediatric trauma patients by providing a conference for internal and external healthcare providers. Oklahoma Children's Hospital is the only pediatric level 1 trauma center in the state and pediatric trauma education will benefit healthcare providers in Oklahoma. The following topics will be presented:

- Dr. Ira Bowen: Traumatic brain injuries & concussion care
- Dr. Ryan Brown: Pediatric non-accidental trauma care
- Dr. Christine Allen: Hot Topics in pediatric trauma critical care
- Dr. Jamie Laughy: Pediatric trauma stabilization for transport
- Dr. James Gregory: Pediatric orthopedic injuries
- Dr. Alessandra Landmann: Pediatric burn care

The target audience for the conference is nurses, physicians, students, residents, pre-hospital providers (EMS), & respiratory therapists.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:

  1. Accurately assess and care for pediatric patients with injuries from non-accidental trauma.
  2. Discuss hot topics in pediatric trauma critical care and how to apply them to practice.
  3. Define pediatric traumatic brain injuries and concussion care to improve patient outcomes.
  4. Improve our working knowledge of burn resuscitation in children.
  5. Classify and compare pediatric orthopedic injuries.
  6. Modify pediatric trauma stabilization for transport to improve patient outcomes.
