Overview
The 44th Annual William K. Ishmael Lectureship is an educational lectureship aimed at disseminating the latest in basic and clinical rheumatologic research to rheumatologists from the Oklahoma City region.  The meeting is organized as a one-day event, held at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, consisting of lectures, networking, exhibitors and a ‘meet the professor’ session, where attendees are encouraged to discuss, in small group format, interesting cases from their own past experience with our guest experts.   
This year, we have distinguished national speakers including Lianne Gensler, MD, of the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, who will discuss psoriatic arthritis, Kenneth Calamia, MD, of the Mayo Clinic, who will offer an update on Behcet’s disease, Alan Baer, MD, of Johns Hopkins University, who will discuss Sjogren’s syndrome, and Maria Suarez-Almazor MD, PhD, of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, who will introduce rheumatic complications of checkpoint inhibitors.


Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:

  1. Discuss new treatment options for psoriatic arthritis.
  2. Discuss new diagnostic (including imaging) and treatment options for Behcet's disease.
  3. Discuss new diagnostic (including criteria) and treatment options for Sjogren's syndrome.
  4. Discuss the diagnosis and management of rheumatologic complications of checkpoint inhibitors.
