Overview

This activity is designed to change the way these providers think and act in their practices so their activities related to patient care reflect safest and best practices. It also serves to encourage physicians and hold them accountable to evidence-based practice.

Overall Professional Practice Gap:
Unexpected morbidity & mortality cases occur in our hospitals annually. Clinicians may be unaware of these medical cases or changes in clinical practice without a forum to discuss and review cases. Clinicians are always in need of improving communication, in a non-punitive environment in order to resolve by interventions for prevention of future cases.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:

  1. Evaluate complications and errors
  2. Identify clinical practice changes
  3. Distinguish errors that can lead to complications
  4. Integrate effective communication among our expanding group

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
